Model, storage & carrier status
Settings → About phone shows the model number and storage tier. The team verifies whether the phone is unlocked or tied to Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile. Unlocked Pixels and OnePlus phones price higher. The IMEI is checked against the blocklist to confirm the phone isn't reported lost or stolen.
Battery health & charging
Pixel: Settings → Battery shows the current state. OnePlus and Motorola: similar Battery menu. The team plugs in to confirm the phone charges, since worn USB-C ports and dead batteries are the most common issues on three-plus-year-old Pixels.
Screen, glass & cameras
The OLED display gets a uniform-color test for dead pixels, burn-in, and green tint (a known issue on some Pixel batches). Front and rear glass checked for cracks. Each camera lens tested in the camera app. Fingerprint sensor and face unlock confirmed working.
Google account & FRP sign-out
Your Google account must be removed before the team can buy the phone, otherwise Factory Reset Protection locks the next owner out. Settings → Passwords & accounts → Google → Remove account. Same procedure on OnePlus and Motorola. The team can walk you through it.

Back up to Google One
Settings → System → Backup. Make sure Backup by Google One is on and recent. Photos sync to Google Photos. Messages back up to Google Drive. Once the phone is wiped on intake, anything not in your Google account is gone.

Remove your Google account
Settings → Passwords & accounts → tap your Google account → Remove account. This disables Factory Reset Protection. Critical step. Without it, the next owner gets locked out of the phone after the factory reset, and the team can't buy it.

Remove SIM or eSIM, factory reset
Pop out the physical SIM card. For eSIM: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Erase eSIM. Then Settings → System → Reset options → Erase all data (factory reset). If you forgot to remove the Google account first, the team can help if you have your password.

Bring the charger, cable & ID
Original USB-C cable and charging brick if you still have them. Government-issued photo ID required for Florida resale. Original box helps the offer but isn't required. Charge the phone to at least 50% so the team can run the boot tests.

Do you take Motorola Razr and other Motorola phones?
Yes. Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 50 foldables, plus the Razr+ 2024. Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50. Plus the Moto G family (G Power, G Stylus, G Play, G 5G) which are common on Cricket, Boost Mobile, and Metro by T-Mobile. Carrier-locked Moto Gs from prepaid carriers still buy.
Do you take other Android brands like Sony, Nothing, ASUS, or Xiaomi?
Yes. Sony Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 5 V. Nothing Phone (3) and Phone (2). ASUS ROG Phone 9 and Zenfone 11 Ultra. Xiaomi 14 Ultra and 14T. TCL 50 series. Less common Androids are quoted in person since the catalog is smaller, but most still buy.
Will you buy a phone with Factory Reset Protection (FRP) locked?
No. Your Google account needs to be removed from the phone first, otherwise FRP locks the next owner out after the factory reset. Settings → Passwords & accounts → tap Google → Remove account. The team can walk you through this at the counter if you have your Google password.
Do you take cracked, water-damaged, or completely broken Pixels?
Yes. Shattered screens, dead batteries, won't power on, stuck in fastboot, screen lift on older Pixel models, USB-C ports that won't charge, water damaged. Broken-phone quotes happen in person after a quick diagnostic. Phones reported lost or stolen on the IMEI blocklist can't be bought.
What about carrier-locked Pixels and OnePlus phones?
Carrier-locked still buys, just at a lower offer than the unlocked version of the same model. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile locks all common. If your carrier has paid the device off, ask them to unlock it before bringing it in; an unlock raises the offer.
How long does the appraisal take?
Usually 10 to 15 minutes for a single phone. The team confirms the model and storage, runs the IMEI check, pulls battery state, tests the screen for cracks and burn-in, verifies the cameras, and confirms the Google account is signed out. Foldables take a bit longer because the hinge gets checked.
